You gotta love real-life learning! April 7, 2016

Take a look at the latest “Instructables” post:

http://www.instructables.com/id/13-Spectacular-Failures-We-Can-All-Relate-to/

It is great to see people sharing their spectacular failures!

I especially like this one:

http://www.instructables.com/id/The-Beautiful-Cutting-BoardI-ruined/

It is a story I can well relate to as sometime good ideas turn sour!!

Life is sometimes unfair and cruel….the good thing about disasters is that the learning is so….visceral (in your face), that you do learn more than you think – probably more than your great successes.

I’ll highlight some of the other stories over the next few weeks!

Anyone looked at the blog regarding upcoming exams?

Interesting “fails”! The posts re: the columns/beams exam certainly are helpful, the Sketchup model especially so.

Fails are interesting….maybe less so for the “failee” (if such a word exists, Dr…) but it is always fun, in retrospect, to tell a tale and have a laugh at the “good old days”!

The blog posts are helpful, thanks, esp. the most recent one and the one with the Sketchup plan…

Thanks for the replies, John! First exam I’ve (sort of) looked forward to.

    I’ll allow “failee”!
